Origami Stool

One tool chair design at the Royal College of Art

ONE TOOL + ONE MATERIAL = ONE STOOL.

Brief:

Experiment with materials and chose well; you should work with such materials that respond well to your tool. This may be a material the tool was not originally made for.

- Avoid using any other components, especially fixings (nails, glue etc.).
- One material and one tool. Nothing else. Be strict.
- These are the rules. They are there for a reason. If you choose to bend them, you should be able to articulate why this is the right thing to do.
-Make it good.

The Origami Stool by Life Cycle Design

Inspired by folding patterns found in nature-

Think a leaf unrolling as it grows.

These natural phenomenons are not only beautiful, but also extremely strong. This is proven by our origami stool can easily support the weight of two adults when made from cardboard. Download the plans today and make your own.

Process
